Catherine McCutcheon

Catherine began Highland Dancing as a child, and after gaining her Highland Dancing diploma picked up Scottish Country and was hooked. She taught and adjudicated Highland Dancing for 20 years. Both her daughters learnt Highland as children.  Fiona shares her mother’s love of Scottish Country Dancing and they have attended many Summer Schools together.  Kirsten continued with her Highland Dancing, competed Nationally and gained her diploma.

Catherine gained her Teaching Certificate in Scottish Country Dancing at the beginning of 2010 and has since taught at region classes and weekend schools at various levels.  Catherine enjoys teaching new dancers, watching them progress and seeing their “Ah-ha” moments.  She also enjoys teaching more advanced dancers, putting the finishing touches to movements and formations and seeing great teamwork develop.

Catherine works part-time at a large medical centre.
